Round 4 Redline Time Attack

June 10th, 2010

AE Performance just returned from REDLINE Time Attack Round 4. An intense lineup of competitors were in attendance for the weekend, as it was hosted at the nail biting, high speed Autoclub Speedway “Roval” in Fontana California. Great weather along with many fans in attendance made the weekend quite spectacular.

An honorable mention must also go out to Paul Walker in the  AE prepped BMW M3. Beginning to feel more at home in the car Paul clicked off a 1.56.0xx, good for 6th Place out of the 15  Street RWD Competitors. At this rate I would keep your eye out for Paul on the podium very soon!

Rich Taylor debuted his AE Performance BMW 335R to compete in Modified RWD Class at the last Redline event. Despite having severe cooling issues that would not allow him to complete a full lap at 100% Rich qualified with a 1.54.xx and still managed to stay on the podium with a 1.59.6xx good for 3rd in Modified RWD. Once dialed in Rich and the AE 335R will be the car to catch! Stay Tuned!.

Paul Dentice in the AE Performance Nissan 370Z took top honors once again in Enthusiast RWD Class and also for the first time an Overall Class win, finally besting the 4WD competitors that usually bring home the Enthusiast Class fast laps. Dentice qualified with 1.53.7xx and finished out the event with a 1.55.9xx which earned a 1st place Class victory as well as a Overall Class victory!

Carl Rydquist showed up with his City Tire/ 350z Drift car at the last minute and was still able to bring  home a 1st place Win in Modified RWD.  After several set-backs with his class-leading Porsche, Carl showed up on day 2 with a drift car, no practice laps, and still managed a 1.55.6xx which was fast enough to win Modified RWD Class!

A very special thanks goes out to all of our sponsors for the 2010 season: Hankook, Brembo, Swift Springs, Volk, OS Giken, GIAC, JIC Magic, APR Performance, Ohlins,  and Etnies Shoes. More to come from the  AE Performance Team as we prepare for more wins at Round 5 Redline Time Attack at Willow Springs Raceway.
